About Us
FertileMarketing.com was grown from my experiences in my small business, Berkshire Watergardens. With this wonderful business I was able to experience owning and running a small business first hand. I completely know what it is like to wear all of the hats, and how time can be just as elusive as profit if you don't pay attention to what you are doing.
My passion for creating FertileMarketing.com is fueled by my experience with traditional advertisers, and having to learn how to market a luxury product to a very small niche. I will admit that my desire to build a brand and grow my business caused me to invest heavily in traditional ads with Berkshire Watergardens. The problem was I believed what the ad sellers were telling me, and was hopeful to get similar results as their examples. Unfortunately my ROI was poor at best.
After investing over $50,000 in a 2 year period I got to understand how ad sellers work. They tell you just about anything to get you to buy. Even if it is against your best interest. I learned an expensive lesson from this, and completely quit using any traditional marketing.
I began to read books about luxury marketing, buzz marketing, word of mouth, and unique ways to advertise. This led me to reading books about the web and social media. This pushed me to the web to locate, and study the many resources I had uncovered.
I found that many of the hottest and most effective new marketing tools on the web are absolutely free. They only take an investment of time. This is perfect for a small business just starting out or a business who has very little money to invest in marketing.
This is why I am excited about the web and social media for small businesses. There are many free tools available to get the word out, and a lot of what is done online is very targeted, and can be tracked.
These are things that anyone can do. You know your business and customers better than anyone. That is why it is important for you to nurture and grow your relationships.
The key Is, where do you start? And that's what I would like to share with you.
