We have developed a learning system that is easy to follow consisting of articles, how to's, video, step by step checklists, and seminars.

Our system can be summed up in 5 steps.  1. Functional  Website  2.  Diversified Foundation  3.  Systematic Growth  4.  Track Your Progress  5.  Continued Education

Sometimes a a small business owner, you have to wear all of the hats.  If you have to create your own web strategy and implement it then our easy system will help you.

1.  A properly functioning website that You can update and configure is key to your web strategy.

It would be my opinion that content management systems are the way to go.  With a little training, a non-programmer can easily add pages, change and add content, add pictures and video, perform simple SEO tasks, create custom landing pages for your marketing campaigns, and even change the entire look of the site by  changing the skin.  Think about how easy it is to post to Facebook, or some of these other social media sites.  Why struggle with your own website?  In the past you needed to either be a computer programmer/webmaster, or you had to pay a programmer/webmaster to make your updates.  Not with a content management system.

2.  A diversified foundation will get your business started with web marketing.   You need to create a platform by which to grow your online presence.

I always like to use the example of, "When is the best time to plant a tree for some shade?".  The answer is 20 years ago or right now.  This simple step is the backbone of any business wanting to gain more visibility on the web.  Some of this can be done without having a website, but a website only enhances your results.  Your web foundation consists of several dozen ingredients  ranging from making sure your site is indexed in the search engines, to setting up your Google Adwords account, to signing up to be alerted anytime someone mentions, "your company name or key phrase", for monitoring, to engaging your client on the chosen social media sites, etc.

3.  The key to your online presence is engagement.  Steady diversified growth of quality content and communication is what it is going to take.

We can take a very complicated #3 and sum it up in 3 words: Connect, Create, and Engage.  There...that's all there is to it.  Any questions?  On a more serious note, step 2 is to create your foundation.  Once you have this foundation it becomes your vehicle to grow your web presence.  The perfect analogy: if step 2 is getting a new car, then step 3 is learning how to you drive it, put gas in it, and keep the oil changed.  Also, what do you do if it breaks?  Our system will give you the guidance you need to systematically follow the steps needed to take small bites on a daily to weekly basis.  The little things you do consistently will add up to big things over time.  And time is what this step takes.  Even the tallest redwood trees started from a seed.

4.  If you don't track your progress and efforts, how are you going to know if something is working or not?

At the end of the day it is good to grow your hits to your website, have your blog readership grow, and your Facebook fan page grow, but how and what do you track?  By tracking, testing, and evolving you are able to fine tune your results.  Without a system setup to track, how will you know if you did something right or wrong?  Or what caused a sudden spike or loss in web site traffic?    Tools like Google analytics, Google  adwords,  and tools provided by Email Service Providers can give you a wealth of data to see where you are getting results.  Also how many of your visitors are turning into leads, and then becoming customers?  How will you know who is ready to buy, and who needs to be put into a nurturing program until they are ready to buy?

5.  Continued Education is what is going to preserve your ability to be effective with your web marketing efforts.

The biggest truth with the web is that things change quick.  You want to be able to adjust your strategy based on fundamental changes in what is working and relevant for your unique situation, and what isn't.  The web phenomenon has been brought to us whether we want it or not.  We have to learn and adapt for the better survival of our business.  We all have a choice.  We can ignore it, embrace and learn it, or pay somebody else to deal with it.  The one constant is that it's not going away.  By educating yourself about web marketing you potentially can save yourself a lot of money, and have the ability to direct your efforts to the most productive returns for your investments.  (Like traditional marketing, you can go broke with online marketing too.)
